Settings went back to their defaults

If TinePlayer reverts to defaults and perhaps showed an error at startup that your config file could not be read, something was invalid inside of it. The invalid file was backed up to config.yaml.invalid. Fix the file, rename it back, and restart. See Where data is saved.

A video does not resume where it stopped

Check that Remember Where You Left Off is on. Turning it off stops new positions being saved without clearing the ones already there, so videos watched before it still resume while nothing since does.

Positions are remembered against a video's full path, so if a video's path or filename changes the previously saved data will not be loaded.

Very short viewings are not remembered either. See the resume and watched thresholds.

It forgot which soundtrack I chose

Track choices are stored with the position noted above, and will lose those settings if a video file's path or filename changes.

If an external audio file was chosen and has since moved, that output falls back to the track inside the video that was chosen before it.
