Documentation › Subtitles
Choosing Subtitles
Subtitles are supported as both embedded and external files and can be set to auto-select based on one of the output languages or a specific language. Subtitles can be chosen prior to playback on the Media page or during playback in the player controls.
Forced Subtitles
A forced subtitle track only shows subtitles for things like foreign or alien languages and clarifying on-screen text and signs. Forced is the default choice when regular subtitles are turned off.
TinePlayer can automatically select a forced subtitle track that matches the language of one of the outputs.
Image-based Subtitles
Some DVD and Blu-ray subtitles are stored as images rather than text, and are currently not supported by TinePlayer and will not be presented in the selection lists.
